Attacking castles just like in the Middle Ages is just what you can expect from Castle Clout. The aim is to use a catapult to attack the enemy castle and then destroy it. You can fire stones with a catapult and in order to see the enemy castle, you simply move the display window with the cursor. The catapult can be loaded by hitting the space bar and is then fired; the first click on the catapult makes it swing, while the second click will have the stone flying directly towards the enemy castle. The projectile material is initially made of stone, which only inflicts a little damage, after a few good shots, your projectile will be upgraded to steel. The size of the projectile is also upgraded after a few successful shots. In the Castle Clout menu, you can find a normal game modus as well as a modus which lets you build an enemy castle yourself. This, of course, is something for experienced players who know exactly when they need to fire the catapult in order to inflict the maximum damage. In the menu, there of course is a high score button, which allows you to see how your performance compares to that of the other players. The graphics of Castle Clout are rather simple, so that nothing is there to distract from the actual gaming fun. Nice gimmick: Once you have hit the enemy, their heads will actually go flying through the air. This is a great game for your lunch break and has a high addiction factor just like other games of this kind. The levels get progressively harder as time goes on, but this ultimately makes the charm of the game.
